Denise and Avi co-founded Make-A-Wish Israel in memory of Denise’s brother David Spero in 1996. Their joint mission is to grant transformational wishes to children in Israel that suffer from critical illnesses and to ensure that no child that is eligible for a wish is left behind. Since Make-A-Wish Israel’s inception over 4000 wishes have been granted. They have three children and two grandchildren and live in the state of Israel.

Denise co-founded Make-A-Wish with her husband 25 years ago to enrich the human experience for children in Israel with critical illnesses. She often says ” that the doctors that give the medicine and Make-A-Wish gives the magic!”. She is very proud that Israel continues to be a hub of creativity and innovation for new initiatives that have spread out to the entire global Make-A-Wish community. Denise was also the owner and  President of BTC international, a buying office that represented top US firms and shipped over 100 million dollars of export out of Israel. She is also a sculptor and a motivational speaker and speaks all over the world about her philanthropy and business and how they intertwine. She has been married to Avi for over 35 years, has 3 children and 2 grandchildren.
